Promote, protect, and improve public education in Maine

This election is critical for public schools in Maine. We know we need to elect leaders who will promote, protect, and improve public education in our state. Maine schools are charged with helping children learn, grow, and realize their potential. Prioritizing our public schools is the only way kids in every community in Maine will be prepared to succeed in our diverse society and dynamic global economy.

Who we elect to represent us in Augusta has a huge impact on public schools here in Maine. Our state legislature determines whether we can continue to make progress for educators, students, and Maine families. This election will decide the strength of our school system moving forward, and we need to elect candidates who support:

  • More state funding for schools to keep property taxes in check
  • Increasing teacher and educator pay
  • Free meals for all students
  • More support for career and technical education
  • Free community college

When we vote and support candidates committed to our local public schools, we can ensure Maine children can learn from highly qualified educators in well-resourced public schools. With all seats in the State House and Senate up for voting this cycle, it has never been more critical that we vote for state legislators who will promote, protect, and improve public education in our state.

All 151 seats are up in the State House and all 35 seats are up in the State Senate. Who we elect to represent us in Augusta will have a huge impact on whether we can continue to make progress for educators and students or whether we will need to spend all our time and efforts stopping bad policies and proposals from moving forward. Our state legislature has a huge influence on our public schools. Please be sure to vote for candidates who are committed to our local public schools here in Maine.
